Fazilat Soukhakian:
In my series “This Is Me”, various individuals hide behind
 the pride of their youth-time life, holding it in their wrinkled hands,
 covering their face. They  have all put behind them a historic era.
 They stood against the former government and changed it 32 years ago;
 however, passing from one historical period to another,
 not only they became old and infirm, but their whole life changed,
forced to alter their beliefs, even their appearance,
 due to new restrictions imposed on them.

Sharareh Khosravani:

As an adolescent, growing up in Iran, I was surrounded by war.
 My work reflects my past experiences of war
and encompasses themes of violence, trauma, worries, disappointment.
My portraits in this show depict images of individuals
 crying or screaming, their mouth and eyes sewn shut
. They are suffering from their imposed limitations
 in knowing and claiming their rights.
