Ready to move from black-and-white to color intaglio?

Want the complexity of printing two plates at once?
This 5-week course will build upon what has already
been learned with step and triple aquatint,
as well as building from basic to
 advanced registration techniques.
The black image plate will consist of either line-work and/or tone,
and the color plate will have large flat
areas of color, created by aquatint.

Students are asked to bring their own
etching needles/scribers, and to acquire zinc plates
(11x17 max size and you may bring a plate that’s already been started)
and paper (Hahnemuhle Copperplate is recommended).
All are available for purchase at Tiger Lily
(we will have some 8x10, 9x12 and 11x17 plates).
 Grounds, inks, tarletan and
basic studio supplies will be provided.
Scrapers and burnishers are available for use in class
or to sign out for short periods of time.
If you are starting a new plate,
you MUST have your image outline in soft pencil ready,
no later than the second class.

Cost: $135 non-members, $108 for members (20% rate)
