COLLAGRAPH PRINTMAKING

INSTRUCTOR: Mary Woodworth
Make your own plates with ordinary materials. Using
cardboard, paper, fabrics, modeling paste, and acrylic mediums students create plates,
which can be printed alone or in layers. A unique aspect of this workshop will
be introduction of block out stencils and cut shape collagraph plates to expand
the possibilities for abstract compositions.

SILK SCREENING ON FABRIC AND BEYOND
Wednesdays, April 6,13,20,27

INSTRUCTOR: Nancy Turner
Make your own designed fabric (no prior printing experience
needed). Print on fabric with your own design using basic silk screening skills
that will be taught in the class. Fabric printed can be used for sewn pieces
such as quilts, clothing and accessories.

NON-TOXIC LITHOGRAPHY

INSTRUCTOR: Jay Harriman
This class introduces a new approach to making lithograph
prints. Prior printmaking experience is helpful, but not required. Students
will learn to create and print a polyester plate using lithography techniques on
an etcher’s press using their own or
digital black and white image.

PRINTS INTO BOOKS

INSTRUCTOR: April Foster
Students will employ old etching, collagraph, or Pronto
plates, relief blocks, monoprints and stencils to be combined in multiple ways
to create pages for handmade accordion or signature books. Simple accordion and
coptic bindings will be demonstrated
for completed pages.

PAPERMAKING AND PRINTING
Weekend Workshop
Saturday and Sunday, June 25 and 26
1:00-4:00 pm
INSTRUCTOR: Margaret Rhein
The first day will
focus on creating a variety of handmade papers,
4 x 6” up to 9 x 12”, in a
range of colors and textures.
The second
day will focus on printing monoprint images
incorporating low relief plates
with water-based inks on the
damp handmade papers from previous day.

MONOPRINT INTENSIVE
Tuesday through Thursday, July 12,13,14

INSTRUCTOR: Theresa Gates Kuhr
This 3-day workshop is designed for immersion in the monoprint
process in order to create a series of 11 x 14” prints. There will be
demonstrations on a variety of techniques. Spontaneity will be embraced at
first, followed by purposeful composition and concept development. Beginner to experienced
printers welcome.
